Chapter 2

My Experience with Severe Asthma

c2 videoc2 video
I tried many different treatments and none of them worked well enough for my severe asthma.

Between the tightness in my chest and shortness of breath leading to attacks, I felt myself shying away from activities I love, like family gatherings. I'm a respiratory therapist, so I knew something needed to change before I had another asthma attack.

Chapter 3 Talking to a Specialist

My specialists and I spent years trying to find the right add-on treatment for my severe asthma.

And then my specialist suggested adding TEZSPIRE, which can help me prevent asthma attacks, breathe better, and relieve my asthma symptoms.

Chapter 4 Getting Started with TEZSPIRE Together

Once I was prescribed TEZSPIRE, my specialist/pulmonologist’s office told me about the TEZSPIRE Together Patient Support Program that includes helpful resources and the TEZSPIRE Together Co-pay Program for patients with commercial insurance.

Thanks to this program, I qualify to pay $0* out of pocket, which really helps.

* For eligible commercially insured patients. Eligibility criteria and program maximums apply. Visit tezspire.com or call 1-888-TZSPIRE (1-888-897-7473) for full Terms and Conditions.

Chapter 5 Specialty Pharmacy

TEZSPIRE comes from a specialty pharmacy, so the steps are slightly different to receive TEZSPIRE:
  1. Pick up the call: I answer when the specialty pharmacy calls me to confirm my shipping details.
  2. Get the delivery: I sign for my TEZSPIRE Pre-filled Pen when it arrives.
  3. Store properly: I put my TEZSPIRE Pre-filled Pen in my fridge until it’s time for my next dose.

Chapter 7 Taking TEZSPIRE

I take TEZSPIRE at home once every four weeks.

There are two ways to take TEZSPIRE: self-administration at home with a pre-filled pen or by your doctor at their office with a pre-filled syringe. My life can get hectic between being a respiratory therapist, my nonprofit work, and being a mom, so it’s convenient to have TEZSPIRE shipped right to my door. I pull the pre-filled pen out of my fridge and follow the instructions for use, letting it get up to room temperature before I take my TEZSPIRE/next dose.
